JASON D. WILKINSON, PHD

About Dr. Jason Wilkinson

Dr. Jason Wilkinson has dedicated more than 25 years to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges and move toward meaningful change. Since entering the behavioral health field in 1997, he has worked with people facing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addiction, grief, life transitions, and the lasting effects of adverse childhood experiences. His approach combines clinical expertise with genuine compassion, creating a supportive environment where clients can feel understood, respected, and empowered in their healing journey.

Dr. Wilkinson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP), and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC). Throughout his career, he has served in community mental health, federally qualified health centers, university settings, and private practice, while also providing leadership, consultation, supervision, and psychological assessment services. He is particularly passionate about helping people understand themselves more deeply and discover practical pathways toward resilience, growth, and emotional well-being.

In addition to traditional psychotherapy, Dr. Wilkinson specializes in evidence-based and neuroscience-informed approaches, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Neurofeedback, and qEEG brain mapping. These interventions can be especially helpful for individuals struggling with trauma, stress, anxiety, attention difficulties, and concerns that have not fully responded to conventional talk therapy alone. His work is grounded in the belief that healing involves both the mind and the body, and that every person possesses the capacity for growth, recovery, and meaningful change.

Since 2018, Dr. Wilkinson has served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he provides clinical services, supervises developing professionals, and contributes to physician wellness initiatives. He maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA), American Counseling Association (ACA), Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH), and the Michigan Mental Health Counselors Association (MMHCA).

Dr. Wilkinson considers it a privilege to walk alongside individuals during some of the most challenging and transformative periods of their lives. His goal is to help clients build insight, strengthen resilience, and create a life that reflects their values, purpose, and personal strengths.
